Why I got the word SURRENDER tattooed on my arm

I have been a control freak, people pleaser and someone scared of judgement for years and it has cost me “living” life to it’s fullest and I have had enough of that. Control and people pleasing are illusions and they are hurting your life too.

Why I got the word SURRENDER tattooed on my arm with Nataie Jill

When we are children, there is a time when we know love, trust and possibilities.
Nothing feels out of reach
All we need and want is love and to be authentically loved.
We trust.
We are:
confident
happy
present

And then life happens.
We get let down.
And we learn not to trust.
We decide things are too hard or not possible.

Our ego is born to to protect us and keep us safe and we feed our ego by staying rigid in beliefs and validating that we are “right”

CONTROL and limitations set in.
Stress takes over.

We create pain, inflammation, we age before our time.

What’s wrong with CONTROL? It’s not a real thing. You can’t ever really control things or people.

What’s wrong with limitations? They hold us back and keep us stuck.

Why I got the word SURRENDER tattooed on my arm with Nataie Jill

What’s wrong with stress?

It creates inflammation and disease and physically ages us.

When I speak into “aging in reverse” it’s about SURRENDERING to who you were born to me. Loved, full of possibilities, trusting.

It’s when you get this- when you decide to surrender that the physical changes , financial changes and love truly appears

SURRENDER and start to age in reverse.

Aging in reverse is not about a physical appearance thing but your appearance changes because you do.

SURRENDER. I finally have after years of fighting. And I will remind myself to SURRENDER vs CONTROL now daily as it’s stamped on my arm for life.

I get you may not like tattoos. I did it for me not you. And that is part of me letting go of “people pleasing” and “fear of judgement” as well. Releasing those are also necessary to start to age in reverse.

Do you think these things?

When I have money I’ll be…
When I get fit I will be…
When I get married I’ll be…
When my business is successful I will be…
When I get that client I’ll be…

Your thinking this way is why you do not have it and you won’t ever “be it”.

You are working backwards. Start from where you WANT TO GO.

BE first then DO this then you will HAVE

How do you do this?

Get in the frame and FORCE THE VISION!

Here is HOW:
Create a space for peace and time to think. This can be walking by yourself, sitting quietly, lying down (this part doesn’t matter)

Imagine you already have what it is you want and are waiting for.

What does it feel like?
What does it look like?
How do you spend your time when there?
What do you eat? Drink? As that person?
What are your hobbies as this person?
What choices and decisions does that person make?

Ok… got it? Now here is the part you get to commit to:

Go about your day , your week, your month as THAT person.

Make decisions and choices from THAT PLACE!

If your brain is giving you reasons why you can’t do this then you won’t. Stop being the type of person that does that. If that’s you, Repeat the assignment a million times If you have to 😊

This is supposed to be uncomfortable.

This is supposed to challenge you.

DECIDE to do it anyways.
Let go of your stories and feelings around it.

YOU ARE NOT TOO OLD AND IT IS NOT TOO LATE!

Stop TANNING! I know its “cool and trendy now” but spots and wrinkles in your 40’s will never forgive you.

Don’t rely on college to create a future for you. You will never ever use high level algebra again. I swear.

Stop wearing heels every dang day. Your back will not be happy in 25 years.

Enjoy the space to be “bored” “day dream” and “deeply connect with people” because pagers, and then cell phones are about to ruin this for you and others forever.

Keep those high wasted jeans and scrunchies. They will be back in style in 25 years! Strange I know 😂

Stop waxing your eyebrows. The messy ones are coming back in.

Fat free gummy bears are not “good for you” because they are “fat free” you’ll see…

Stop being so critical of yourself. And surprise you will have a daughter that looks and acts just like you one day.

WHY I started something that has nothing to do with fitness or nutrition

I started listening to podcast on this topic but found myself annoyed that many hosts would talk over who they were Interviewing and not asking the questions that I really wanted to know. SOOOOOO, I started my own.

Through interviewing and asking the hard questions, I found a tremendous love of interviewing. I love learning about others, their stories, their journeys, what makes them tick and most importantly, HOW they shifted past unimaginable things in their lives and leveled up.

It was super therapeutic! I basically has 100 hours of high level therapy and coaching.

My passion for this started as a hobby

10 years ago I had an idea in my gut that started nagging at me… to make a fitness video with a flip camera with my friend and post it on Youtube.

Now that likely does not sound unusual to you but let me explain:

Fitness, nutrition, fat loss was not my career yet.

Instagram wasn’t born yet.

My Facebook was not the 2 mil it is now, it was just my high school friends.


I had just gone through my OWN transformation and was not an “expert” in anything.

I was not yet an author or podcast host.

And I had never ever even been on camera or made a video.

I had no idea what I was doing and I didn’t really even know why I was doing it.

People told me that it would be too hard to make noise on YouTube and I shouldn’t even try.

I just knew my gut was telling me to make a video. “Make that video” I heard that voice in my head telling me to do it.

Because of that first video:

A producer reached out to me and I started creating more fitness videos.

Then I got the confidence to be on camera and created numerous programs with that skill set.

I was able to reach and connect with countless clients.

Through YouTube I met Drew Canole (literally right from YouTube) and he introduced me to my husband, Brooks.

My whole LIFE changed because of YouTube and listening to my gut.

25 MILLION views 275,000 subscribers later YouTube sent me this recognizing my channel, NatalieJillFitness

YouTube didn’t just change my life…it changed my husbands and millions of people’s lives who have viewed my videos! I have some videos there with 8 million views.

WHAT IS YOUR GUT TELLING YOU?
